Business Development
What is the Division's Business Development Team?
The Business Development Team was established by the North East Victorian Division of General Practice in July 2008. It is made up of a number of qualified and experienced staff with expertise in a range of areas including practice nursing, practice management and Continuing Professional Development.
The program aims to
- Support business planning within practices.
- Assist with chronic disease identification and systems to enable improved outcomes.
- Facilitate networking, training and support within the Division.
The team assists with
- Individual business strategies and planning ideas to general practices to increase uptake of MBS items; chronic disease patient profiling using information management software; and to identify local specialised chronic disease services.
- Support and education opportunities to practice staff to enhance best practice working methodology.
- Comprehensive IT information and support to practices for electronic health technology.
- Support, information and coordination of the Division's Immunisation and Practice Nurse programs.
Heading your way
The Business Development Team offers practices in the North East Division support to improve outcomes for patients and their businesses. The team have introduced the PEN Clinical Audit Tool to all eligible and interested practices and will be working with practice staff and interested GPs to analyse data that will support improved data recording and patient management systems.
